My cat Charlie is back from the vet.
He spent the night sleeping on my bed.

The vet didn't find anything wrong with him, except the fever, so we got kitty antibiotics. He also did some kind of intravenous kitty hydration.

Now, our cats have a self-refilling water bowl, the kind you fill and then turn upside down? So something about that must not be working for him. [livejournal.com profile] mrpet thinks maybe we need to get a burbling one so the water is always moving.

For some reason Charlie really likes drinking out of my glass, so I may start leaving it out for him.

The dish does get cat food bits into it randomly. I think cleaning it regularly may be a good idea. Also, you may want to give him filtered water. I had a cat that only liked water from the Brita. OK, actually he only wanted to drink water from the Brita out of a person's glass. He doesn't have a water dish, just a glass. That you need to wash and refill every 2 days because he is a fussy cat.

Charlie needs to have 1ml of antibiotics given to him twice a day for the next 7 days. I overslept and needed to run out to work this morning so I missed the first dose. Can you give it to him, it's in the fridge?

Also we need to find someone to do this while we are at camp.

Yes, I can give it to him. Matt is going to be feeding the cats while we're away, so we can ask him.

Make sure to shake well. Thanks!

I shook well. I think it may be a two-person job, though. He seemed excited about the antibiotic but I had to pull his head back to get any of it in his mouth. Mysterious.

Tybalt used ot do that. He loved the taste of the antibiotics but strugged against being given it.

*healing hydrating wishes to your kitty*
:-)
(I've been out of the internet loop lately. Haha)
Julio really REALLY liked drinking from the faery fountain I have here, and I had to turn it off between he and Rowan messing with it...so yeah, I second perhaps getting one of the pet fountains I've seen around. I recall seeing one at the supermarket for like $30.
Good luck!

Have him tested for FIP. One of the symptoms is unexplained fever and kitty flu-like symptoms. Not sure how much it's going to help, but it might. Good luck.
And thank you for your offer--i might well take you up on it. My father's decided to put up a server because it seems all 4 of us need webpages all of a sudden, so now I just have to create. Thanks!"hugs"
