This is kind of long, rambly, and not especially important. But I ran across it doing research to make sure MA senate seats weren't statewide when you originally posted.
I found this, which lists all the MA senate districts and the towns/wards/precincts that are in them.
Unhelpfully, they aren't numbered or anything useful like that. So as far as I can tell, there is no "second senatorial district". Rathere there is a "Second Essex and Middlesex" senatorial district and a "Second Bristol and Plymoth" district and a .... And so on including a "Second Middlesex" district (which is ours and *not* the same as "Second Essex and Middlesex"
