library complaint, and a non-trashy summer book

So, last month they took the number of allowed holds down from thirty to twenty.
And now there's a note saying no more audiovisual requests because their delivery system is overwhelmed.
Don't think that I don't see where this is going!!! You're going to make us go to all those different branches to get the stuff we want, and it's going to be a massive pain in the ass!!! Feer my rath!!!!

Through the summer, I have been reading I am Beautiful: A Celebration of Women edited by Dana Carpenter and Woody Winfree. This book is amazing and everyone should read it. It has pictures of women, and then quotes from them about why they're beautiful. They're all different ages, shapes, and ethnicities. I loved this book. Get it.

The end.

Usually I don't comment on an icon, but I really like your icon. I am a devotee of fried plaintains although not nearly as good at making them as I would like.

Thanks. :) [livejournal.com profile] starkeymonster made it for me.

Hey, where did you see this note about the block on audiovisual requests? I hadn't heard about this - it makes me sad!

Damn! Just stopped by the library and they had a flyer about it. They also said it was mentioned on their website (true). The good news is that it's a temporary thing while they deal with backlogs.

I have to admit, I'm suspicious. I have a suspicious nature. I bet they're going to limit the number of A/V requests, using this as the reason.

But I hope I'm wrong.
