hard to be good
Jan. 12th, 2005 07:41 amYesterday I went to Windsor Buttons. (For those reading along at home, it's a craft store in downtown Boston and they sell yarn.) I had originally gone there so that I could get stitch markers. Approximate cost: $4. So why is it that when I got up to the counter and was rung up, suddenly my total was $108.56??
Well, first I saw this rockin' hot pink yarn to make wrist warmers for
michellemybell out of. And then I remembered I told my sister I would make her some socks, and they had Magic Stripe for (relatively) cheap. Then there were a few presents, and the knit-in elastic to make my kneestockings with. Then on my way up to the register I saw that they had a crochet book I'd never seen before which turned out to be hella cool. First crochet book I've ever seen where I liked more than two of the patterns, so OF COURSE I had to get it!
And that's how it happened, yer' honor, that I spent a third of my second-to-last paycheck on yarn. But it's good, you know? 'Cause I'm certainly going to have a lot of free time on my hands. And anyway, everything but the book is returnable... *grin*
