This little plaza has always been a puzzle to me. There's enough room for cars, but you're not supposed to drive them there. It's flat, as if for recreation, but there are no water fountains or benches. It's much bigger than it would need to be to accomodate the path. What exactly is it for?
tunnel
Going under the overpass. I love this picture - I'm so glad it looks almost as neat as it does in real life.
out of the tunnel
What you see when you come out of the tunnel.
pond
The first view of the first pond en route.
tree exuberance
I love this tree. "A fence?" it says. "You think you can hold me in with a fence?" As my father sometimes says, "God bless the daisy that grows in the crack of the sidewalk."
stone bench
When it's not too cold, it's wonderful to lie on this bench and look at the sky.
wait-- how do you wind up going through that round tunnel? when i go this route, i go under the bridge shown on the far side of the mysterious terrace, and turn right-- this takes me beside the round tunnel, but not through it. where did you go?
I used to do it that way, but it turns out you can also go right in the middle of the plaza, which takes you through a nice little woodsy area, and then through the tunnel. It's less depressing than going by that faded creepy playground, imo. I'm not sure you could do it with a bike, though.
